On Swift Horses (2025), directed by Daniel Minahan, is a moody, atmospheric queer drama set against the backdrop of 1950s America. Adapted from Shannon Pufahl’s novel, the film follows Muriel (Daisy Edgar-Jones), a young Kansas housewife whose life is upended by the arrival of her charismatic brother-in-law, Julius (Jacob Elordi). As Muriel navigates her own desires and secret gambling habits, Julius embarks on a passionate relationship with Henry (Diego Calva) in Las Vegas. The film explores themes of repression, identity, and the complexities of love and longing in a time of societal constraints.
